Drew Switzer
Drew is an up-and-coming guide here at AVA and this will be his second season guiding the Durango area. He is a full time fisherman and part time student at Fort Lewis College here in Durango Colorado.
This will be Drew's fourth season as guide. His previous guide experience was in Estes Park for Estes Park Mountain Shop. The home waters for the shop included the Big Thompson, Poudre River as well as the lakes and streams in Rocky Mountain National Park. Drew moved from Greeley Colorado a year ago where he attended University of Northern Colorado until transferring to Fort Lewis. He came to Durango for the smaller school, surrounding mountains and the fantastic fishing.

Drew has a great outlook on life and it caries over to his guiding. He genuinely enjoys teaching new anglers the sport of fly fishing. He also likes putting experienced anglers on tricky and technical trout. Drew feels right at home wade fishing the San Juan Quality Waters, the Animas and mountain creeks. A day on the water with Drew will make you feel young again.

Drew spends his free time outdoors hiking, hunting, camping and fishing. During the winter if he is not studying or fishing he can be found Chapman Hill Ice Arena playing hockey and works as the Zamboni driver.
