Guided
Private Water Access
Over the years we have built a number of friendships
and partnerships with private land owners who allow us to help
better serve our clients by offering access to some of the best
water in the area. We respect this privilege and hope our clients
will do the same.
We
currently have access to Root Pond, a 7 acre spring-feed
pond, various sections on the Animas River north and south
of Durango, a ranch on the Florida River and a small stretch
on the Pine River near Vallecito.
One
of our favorite private land locations
is the Isgar Ranch located on the
Animas River a couple miles south of Durango. This
is a fantastic stretch of river with lots of great runs
and riffles, deep tanks and high quality trophy trout.
Some
of
the largest
trout we have seen come out of the Animas were caught on this
spectacular ranch. We have permission to fish a few other private
properties on the Animas as well as a couple private boat launches
that we use for float trips. Stay tuned for updates as we are
constantly working on additional private water fishing opportunities!
Guiding
land owners and their guests on their own private
water
Over
the years, we have been guiding people on their own private
land, to either teach them about the sport of fly fishing or
help them learn more about their own water. Land and property
owners also have us out to guide their guests and friends.
We have fished and guided most of the rivers and streams in
the area. This includes the Florida, Pine, Animas, San Juan,
Beaver Creek, ponds and a number of other streams in the area.
We offer different packages to suit the needs of any property
owner.
We
also offer full stream and river evaluations that focus on
trout populations, catch rates, holding water, bio mass studies,
along with advice on possible improvements. We can get you
in touch with the best stream improvement teams in the area.
